I've been talking to my friends a lot this week about cozy MMOs, debating the pros and cons of farming, while simultaneously rustling up yummy food to win NPCs over with. But sometimes you just need a little more action, and the Elder Scrolls Online offers all of that and more. Expanding even further with its free scribing update, there's plenty of new content to sink your teeth into and, more importantly, even more rewards to claim.
Now available to for free via the MMORPG's Crown Store, all players can access the scribing system as an upgrade, but it is worth mentioning that you'll need to be level 30, or have reached the Champion System, to access the bundle.
If you're new to the Elder Scrolls Online, though, the grind to 30 is absolutely worth it, with scribing allowing you to collect, customize and transform Grimoires into handmade skills by adding various scripts. These affect what the spell does, right down to targeting and the type of damage.
If acquiring this upgrade isn't enough to sate your ESO hunger, you'll also be able to use your brand new skills to take part in the aptly named The Scribing for All Golden Pursuits campaign, and earn loads of cool new in-game rewards along the way. There's everything from a small pile of money to a tenth Anniversary painting to hang in your in-game home - the latter sounds pretty good to me.
The new campaign arrives as part of The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road, and will be available until Thursday August 7. It includes 26 different activities, with everything from completing quests with your new scribing skills to acquiring grimoires, and more. Some specific activities might even grant you extra rewards, including another skill style.
