The introduction of Eve Online freelance jobs with the Legion update was one of those small but significant changes that makes you wonder why it didn't exist before. Allowing corporations to outsource jobs to all players across New Eden, it lets people who might not be part of a big group get a bit more of a sense of the space MMO's community, while also earning some ISK along the way. Now, developer CCP is expanding the system with the introduction of a new, highly requested delivery job type that can enable quick, streamlined movement of goods across the galaxy.

After more than two decades, Eve Online remains a stalwart on our list of the best MMOs in 2025. Of course, like similar interstellar offerings Star Citizen and X4, is it also quite daunting to get started. The freelance jobs system, a core part of the Legion update that arrived in May, lets individuals take on requests from corporations without having to worry about signing up for a long-term commitment that they're not prepared for.

There is, naturally, some potential for more nefarious uses, but such is the territory of Eve's freeform, cutthroat world. Freelance jobs are a smart piece of the puzzle, but CCP says that "one thing has been missing." Enter the new 'deliver' job type, which it describes as "a logistics addition that will take your creativity to the next level, allowing you to set up buyback programs, regular fuel delivery tasks, and so much more." It's a feature that's been requested since day one of Legion. "We hear you," CCP says. "Day one would have been nice."

Corporations are now able to request item deliveries directly to the freelance job itself. On the freelancer's side, it all transfers directly from your cargo hold, going straight from ship to job. This enables corps to run concurrent requests for the same item, enabling simple logistics solutions with "no hangar space clashes, no asset pileups, just clean, trackable contributions." For individuals, it's a nice way to get your Elite Dangerous on in Eve and earn some ISK as a space trucker.

Much more is on the way to Eve Online throughout summer, with the highlight likely to be the Solar Fest. Running from Tuesday July 15 through Tuesday July 22, a wide selection of rewards will be given out during Solar Fest, including "a never-before-seen, color-shifting gloss nanocoating." You'll also be able to earn Twitch Drops as part of an ongoing guest-stream campaign on the main CCP channel.
