Microsoft Outlook appeared to crash on Thursday, leaving lots of people scrambling as the work day began in the United States.
Reports of issues spiked on Down Detector around the early East Coast hours. (Disclosure: Ziff Davis owns both Down Detector and Mashable.)
Microsoft has not yet posted any public comments to its social media pages on the outage. The company's service status page, however, did show that Outlook was down. "Users may be unable to access their mailbox using any connection methods," the page read, noting that the company was working to fix the issue.
Mashable Light Speed
Mashable reached out to Microsoft for comment but did not immediately receive a response. We will update accordingly should Microsoft get in touch.
Users online were complaining about the apparent outage, especially as the work day began. Outlook manages everything from email to calendars, which makes the outage a major inconvenience.
