Samsung Unpacked was silent on Project Moohan and the rumored trifold phone

Galaxy updates galore, but no word on Project Moohan or the rumored trifold phone

We got a lot of information from Samsung at Samsung Unpacked, like everything coming to the Galaxy Watch 8, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and its four new colors, and all the new AI-infused features.

But we were expecting at least some information about Project Moohan and the rumored trifold phone and were left empty-handed.

Samsung has been slowly releasing information about Project Moohan, its Android XR headset, for months now, so we really expected to hear more about it at Samsung Unpacked. The headset is allegedly built on Google's Android XR operating system and powered by an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 chipset, but we don't know much more. We got a teaser photo of the headset at Galaxy Unpacked 2025 all the way back in January, where we learned that Project Moohan is a joint venture between Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm. While Mashable hasn't had the opportunity to review it just yet, but Tom's Guide's Philip Michaels got his hand on an early version of the headset, which he described as relatively comfortable.

"It didn't feel particularly heavy during my demo — I certainly wasn't looking forward to removing it, as I am most of the time when trying on headsets," he said.

But after an hour-long Samsung Unpacked, the tech giant didn't even touch on the headset, or its rumored trifold phone — two of the most anticipated drops.
