Here's when you can play Half-Life inspired Abiotic Factor's new update

While we're still waiting for Half-Life 3, pouring over Steam files in the hope that we'll uncover a shred of new information, there's a new update for its spiritual successor, Abiotic Factor.  The survival game, heavily inspired by the popular Valve shooter, is launching its 1.0 update this summer - and we've got all the timings you need for the release.

The 1.0 launch of the survival game, titled Cold Fusion, will arrive on July 22, after a successful early access run that saw it rack up a 96% positive rating from players.  If you've been living in an underground Black Mesa lab and haven't heard of Abiotic Factor, the basic idea is that you play as an employee of GATE (Garrick Advanced Technology Enterprises), investigating every field of scientific study - and the realms beyond.

Except on this totally normal work day, there's been a containment breach of catastrophic proportions. Now you're fighting for your life through a cosmic battle zone against dangerous aliens and bizarre enemies - and help most definitely is not on the way.

You'll need to battle to survive and reclaim the facility by crafting ingenious and outlandish tools, scavenging for resources, building a robust base, and fighting off enemies. To make things even better, you can do it solo or with up to six scientific pals.

The latest update from developers Deep Field reveals that Abiotic Factor will be available from 10am PST / 6pm BST on launch day, with several new updates arriving from early access. Last month, the devs revealed that the new upgrades for 1.0 would include office cubicles, a new tier-four Compact Crate, a void chest, and so much more.

If you're yet to pick up Abiotic Factor and want to try it out before the update, it's currently 20% off on Steam at $27.99 / £23.99.  Abiotic Factor's 1.0 update, Cold Fusion, will launch on Tuesday July 22 at 10am PST / 1pm EST/ 6pm BST / 7pm EST, and Wednesday July 23 at 3am AEST.
