While we wait for more news and a closer look at GTA 6, you can check out the GTA system requirements for all the previous 3D games in the series. You've got plenty of time to replay these epic crime games or play through them for the first time, ahead of next year's big launch.

Whether it's Grand Theft Auto 5 or the Definitive Edition of GTA 3, we've gathered all the PC system requirements for every major GTA game into one place. You won't need the best graphics card to run any of them, but older PCs and laptops may still struggle with the demands of GTA 5's enhanced edition following some big performance upgrades.

Here are the GTA 5 Enhanced system requirements in 2025:

The GTA 5 system requirements received a considerable boost thanks to the introduction of the enhanced edition launching on PC in March 2025.

This new update brought with it all the next-gen console visual upgrades, plus ray tracing and Microsoft DirectStorage, allowing for faster loading times. Having an SSD will still provide some benefits, but an NVMe drive used on Windows 10 or 11 will open up access to the DirectStorage feature.

By modern standards, none of the GTA system requirements are demanding, with many of the above titles relying on the now-defunct Nvidia GTX graphics cards.

The only GTA game that might benefit from newer hardware is Grand Theft Auto 5. This is because there are plenty of GTA 5 mods that can increase the graphical fidelity of the game, even going as far as to add photorealistic visuals.

You'll want to use one of the best SSDs for gaming to ensure faster download times and shorter loading times in all these games.

Of course, if you're eagerly waiting for a GTA 6 release date, you'll be tempted to build the best gaming PC possible. However, we suggest holding off until we know a lot more about how our time in Leonida will play out.
