TL;DR: The Samsung 27-inch Odyssey G5 gaming monitor is on sale for $149.99 at Amazon, down from its $249.99 list price.

Finding a gaming monitor for under $150 usually means cutting back on at least a couple of major features, but Amazon’s latest Samsung deal is a rare record-low exception.

As of June 29, the Samsung 27-inch Odyssey G5 (G51F) QHD gaming monitor is on sale at Amazon for only $149.99, down from its usual $249.99 list price — now knocked down to its lowest-ever price (as confirmed with price tracker, camelcamelcamel).

That saves you $100 in total and knocks 40% off a Samsung display that covers the main things most PC and console players need: sharper resolution, fast refresh rates, and properly adjustable stand.

For a cent under $150, the Odyssey G5 gives you a 27-inch QHD 2560x1440 display, which has 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD. That should make the latest games — like the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, or the recent 007: First Light — look much cleaner and more detailed without pushing you into the much higher prices attached to 4K monitors.

The G51F also comes with an 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, giving you top-tier speed for the usual fast-paced multiplayer games, like Fortnite, Overwatch, or League of Legends.

AMD FreeSync is included to help reduce choppiness, screen lag, and image tearing when gameplay gets hectic with lots of images appearing and shifting at once, while HDR10 should add brighter highlights and more nuanced shadows.

Samsung has added a few extra gaming-focused features as well, including Black Equalizer for adjusting darker areas of the screen and Virtual Aim Point for another competitive-minded touch. Auto Source Switch+ is also included, which should make swapping between connected devices a little less annoying.

The height-adjustable stand is another useful bonus at this price, with tilt and pivot support helping you set up the screen more comfortably for longer sessions.

If you’re a gamer who’s open to making the jump to OLED, the 49-inch Samsung OLED G9 gaming monitor is still on sale for $799.99. For those who want a slightly bigger display, the 32-inch Samsung Odyssey G5 (G50F) is on offer for $189.99 at Amazon
