I don't know about you, but sometimes there's nothing better than sinking your teeth into a good whodunnit mystery, especially when you're forced to solve the machinations that led to your own untimely demise. In Knock on the Coffin Lid, said death is only the beginning, and its latest update makes finding out what happened even harder.
Packed with tactical card-based gameplay and stunning artwork, Knock on the Coffin Lid was an instant hit when it launched last summer after four years in Steam early access. A roguelike that promised some exciting stakes, it has since sold over 100,000 copies across the original game and its Nightmares of Millenis DLC. With its latest update, however, it's offering to make unravelling the strings that led to your demise even more difficult with a brand new Custom Mode, allowing players to take their fates into their own hands - for better or worse.
Custom Mode grants you even more control over your runs, letting you amp up the difficulty even further if you're looking for a little more challenge. You can also forge your starting deck from all available cards for your chosen character, select any starting equipment you encountered in the Story Mode, apply modifiers that can bring you fortune or ruin, all the while increasing the dangers in the land of Midian.
There's also fresh new battlefields awaiting you, with Daily Runs now offering new randomly generated maps every 24 hours. So there's really no better time to return to the land of Midian again. And again. And again.
Knock on the Coffin Lid is available on Steam at 35% off for $16.24 / £12.66, while the Nightmares of Millenis DLC is available with 20% off for $8.79 / £7.43. You can find more info about it here.
