4. Put Down a Metal Grass Barrier: This metal stripping will keep out ground weeds when placed along a fence line. It won’t do a thing about weed seeds, though.

Can I Spray or Tear Out a Neighbor's Weeds?

Some Redditors urge vigilante weed-killing as a sort of lawn care self-defense. “I usually just spray a few feet on their side, and it gives me a buffer for the summer,” wrote a Redditor. However, this isn't technically legal—if the roots of the weed are on their property, it’s their plant and you absolutely cannot poison or cut it down without their permission.

The best course of action may be simply to have a neighborly chat, as one Redditor suggested: “Walk over there with a couple of beers and start chatting about it. My guess is they won’t have an issue with you treating their (weeds) to save your space.”
