Battlestate Games says the upcoming Escape From Tarkov hardcore wipe will be "wave-like," as it continues to detail exactly what we can expect when it launches soon. This version of an EFT wipe is filled with extra restrictions, making it an even more challenging reset than what we're used to. So however you plan to keep having successful raids, you'll want to hear what BSG is saying.

Ahead of the imminent hardcore wipe, which is scheduled for sometime in July, Battlestate Games has been sharing infographics on the changes we can expect. The team has shown off three images in total, with the first detailing the upcoming Flea Market and Hideout changes. In essence, BSG is restricting a handful of mechanics while simultaneously making Escape From Tarkov much more challenging, right before the 1.0 launch.

Since Battlestate Games started providing details on the hardcore wipe, however, it says it's been carefully keeping an eye on feedback for one of the best FPS games. This has led the team to now clarify just how the process is going to work, with it set to roll out in stages.

"All restrictions indicated in the infographics will be wave-like: as players progress, we have planned sets of changes that will affect the gameplay, including the gradual opening of locations on the location selection screen."

Battlestate Games head of studio Nikita Buyanov also goes into extra detail, while assuring players that the team is monitoring feedback and adjusting the balance if needed. "Various balance changes will be made to trading, availability of weapons, equipment, loot, bot behavior, quests, experience, skill leveling and other attributes and parameters in order to create a unique experience of playing in harsh conditions," Buyanov writes.

"Several stages of progression are planned within which balance changes will be made. Follow the news to find out all the details first. We are also closely monitoring player feedback and are already adjusting balancing changes in addition to the planned stages if necessary."

As a part of BSG's third infographic, we've also learned a little more about some of the adjustments planned for the hardcore wipe. You'll have to contend with a 100% boss spawn chance on all locations, for one, which means you'll be coming up against the toughest opponents everywhere you go. Overall AI difficulty is also increasing, so it won't just be the big names you need to watch out for.

To round out the hardcore wipe reveals, you'll also get increased experience for successfully surviving a raid, but gain reduced experience for killing enemies and dying. This means you'll want to ensure, more than ever, that you can extract with whatever you need. With the Escape From Tarkov 1.0 and Steam release date looming, the hardcore shooter is about to get much more challenging.
