Games Done Quick is easily one of my favorite events on the calendar. I can kick back after a long day of work and watch some incredibly talented speedrunners show off their skills, all while they help raise millions for charity. It's always been a truly heartwarming showcase of what we can do as a community, and I'm sure this year is going to be no different. Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) 2025 is finally here, with runs in everything from Blue Prince to Monster Hunter Wilds. So it's time to get watching.

The whole point of Summer Games Done Quick is to check into the livestream whenever you get the chance, but after taking a look at the schedule myself there are some runs I just can't wait to watch. The week ends with some superb Monster Hunter Wilds showcases, but there's a lot on before then. On Sunday July 6 we've got an Any% run of Banjo-Kazooie, which is sure to be filled with glorious music and plenty of rolling bears. It should only take about an hour, so it's the perfect primer for the feats we'll be seeing in some of the best PC games throughout the week.

Then on Monday July 7 there's going to be a run of Metal Gear Solid 3. If you want to watch a display of stealthy skill and get ready for Konami's imminent remaster, this'll be the place to do it. There's also plans for Crash Twinsanity on the same day, which I'd love to see broken down in no time at all.

Following this, you can expect a Blue Prince run on Tuesday July 9, but it's not going to be a typical one. It's called 'B Quest Bingo,' and will pit two runners against each other as they complete a list of random objectives at the same time. This means you'll watch two people who know the roguelike puzzle game better than the back of their hand, as they adapt to objectives on the fly.

Later in the week on Saturday July 12 there's also going to be some Monster Hunter Wilds runs. You can watch both a two-player lockout bingo, alongside a four-player Apex showcase that's sure to impress. Considering how you can spend upwards of thirty minutes fighting some of the toughest creatures in the game, I'm incredibly excited to see what tools, weapons, and strategies get used to turn them all into absolute pushovers.

Of course, though, it wouldn't be a GDQ event without some sort of Super Mario 64 run. This time, there's a 120 star speedrun of the game, where one player is going to beat the entirety of SM64 back to front. It'll take just shy of two hours, but the technical knowledge on display here will be something to behold.

This year SGDQ is raising money for Doctors Without Borders, which is a humanitarian medical non-governmental organization that offers international aid to conflict zones and victims of natural disasters.

Summer Games Done Quick 2025 is running from Sunday July 6 to Sunday July 13, with plenty of speedruns for you to watch throughout the week. You can watch the show live on Twitch.

If you want more, make sure you check out the biggest free Steam games you can play today. Otherwise, we've got the best old games you need to revisit.
