Why You’ll Love These Cornbread Butter Swim Biscuits

If you love classic Southern cornbread and buttery homemade biscuits, these Cornbread Butter Swim Biscuits give you the best of both worlds. Baked in melted butter until golden brown, they’re soft on the inside, crispy around the edges, and perfect with everything from chili to fried chicken.

No kneading, they are made in an 8X8, which is the perfect size, and delicious! Anyone can make these biscuits, which is one reason they are so popular. If you love cornbread, like most southerners do, this is the version for you. The texture is wonderful and they taste great. Perfect for breakfast or as a side to your favorite main. If you love this concept but want to try a loaf version, you will love this bread!

What Are Butter Swim Biscuits?

They are unique but also so easy to make! Made by pouring the dough into a pan with melted butter. So the dough swims in the butter. It soaks it right up, and you have a great biscuit! This takes a lot of the work out of it, and anyone can make these. No rolling the dough out and no kneading. Super easy.

Do You Have to Use Buttermilk?

No, you don’t have to but we love buttermilk in our butter swim biscuits. It will work fine with regular milk too, but the buttermilk does add extra flavor and tenderness to the biscuit.
