If you've been thinking about a decent gaming monitor upgrade for a while, but have been put off by the cost, then this Samsung Odyssey gaming monitor deal gives you a great chance to pick up a bargain. Right now, Samsung has knocked a massive 43% off the price of this 27-inch screen, bringing down the price to just $129.99, which is outstanding value for a monitor with a 180Hz refresh rate.

What's more, this Samsung monitor also supports AMD Freesync, which means it will adjust its refresh rate on the fly in sync with the output from your GPU, meaning you don't get any ugly tearing artifacts. With its 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, you won't need a super-fast graphics card to play games at its native resolution either - it's a great partner for the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT, which is now the top budget gaming GPU choice on our guide to buying the best graphics card.

In our tests, we've often found that you can enable Nvidia G-Sync on monitors that support variable refresh rate tech, such as Freesync, as well, but this monitor isn't officially listed as G-Sync compatible, so there's no guarantee. This monitor also uses a VA-type panel, and in our IPS vs VA tests, we've found this technology gives you much higher contrast and deeper blacks than rival IPS panels.

On the downside, VA panels aren't as responsive as IPS screens when it comes to fast action, where they can be prone to ghosting. As such, this monitor is better suited to playing epic cinematic single-player games, rather than twitchy, fast-paced multiplayer shooters. Also, pixels can look a bit chunky at this resolution on a 27-inch screen compared to 2,560 x 1,440 panels, but you still get a big screen for a very cheap price, and you don't need loads of GPU horsepower for it either.

You even get a decent, flexible stand with this monitor, rather than a basic fixed one, offering tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustment. You get both DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2 inputs as well, meaning you can plug your PC into the former, and then plug a console or other device into the latter.

If you want to take advantage of this deal, then you just need to click on this link here to take you directly to the Samsung web store. It's a limited-time offer, though, so you'll need to get in quick before it goes.
