Blizzard has rolled out a much-needed Diablo 4 hotfix that solves two of the biggest issues in its demon-blasting RPG. The new update for Diablo 4 Season 9 addresses missing Nightmare Sigils, a problem that was proving a serious roadblock for anyone trying to grind through the endgame, and also improves the payout of the newly introduced Horadric Strongrooms. If you've been finding yourself frustrated by constant progression walls, the experience should now feel much smoother.

The new Diablo 4 season gives Nightmare Dungeons the long-awaited upgrade they've needed, introducing changes that will persist beyond the Sins of the Horadrim cycle. They're the kind of core upgrades Blizzard needs to deliver if it wants Diablo 4 to hold its spot among our best RPGs amid challenges from the likes of Path of Exile 2 and Last Epoch. However, if you've been playing you'll have noticed that the Nightmare Sigils used to enter the endgame dungeons are strangely absent, thanks to an unintended issue that Blizzard has now resolved.

As shown in the video above from Diablo YouTuber Max, known as 'Wudijo,' Nightmare Sigils have not been dropping upon completion of a Nightmare Dungeon as expected. This guaranteed reward has been part of Diablo 4 for several seasons, ensuring that you'll always have the ability to go from dungeon to dungeon with minimal interruption to your blasting. With that certainty removed, the best option was to grind Helltides for the Sigil Dust needed to craft them, creating an awkward impediment to the thing you actually want to be doing.

Thankfully, it's no more. The Diablo 4 patch notes for Blizzard's latest hotfix confirm that it has "Fixed an issue where Nightmare Dungeon Sigils were not awarded when completing a Nightmare Dungeon." The update also restores one of the other remarkably rare resources; the drop rate of Arcana, used to craft the seasonal Horadric Spells, has been "significantly increased" among the Horadric Strongroom rewards, which should make experimenting with and optimizing your best Diablo 4 builds a lot easier.

Diablo 4 patch 2.3.0 hotfix 2 is live now. This follows an earlier hotfix that also increased the drop rate of Horadric Phials, and you can check the full patch notes courtesy of Blizzard.
