This 3-Ingredient Strawberry Sorbet Is the Easiest Summer Dessert
Try MyRecipes, our digital recipe box to stash and organize all your favorite Better Homes & Gardens recipes.
This recipe requires just three ingredients: a homemade sugar syrup, fresh strawberries, and lemon-lime soda. It's perfect on a hot day, and you don't even need an ice cream maker; blend the mixture with a food processor and use a metal baking pan to freeze.
How to Make Strawberry Sorbet
Strawberry sorbet is truly as easy as pureeing your strawberries and adding a simple syrup and some lemon-lime soda. It's an incredible way to use berries from the garden or from your farmers market haul. While the prep time is minimal, make sure to reserve plenty of time for freezing before you serve at your next party. That perfectly icy-smooth consistency comes from pureeing in your food processor twice—the first time before freezing and then mid-freeze. It only takes a few minutes, and the result will be a sorbet with great texture and strawberry flavor.
Test Kitchen Tip: If all the strawberries won't fit in your food processor, you can puree in batches (then return all the puree to the processor to add sugar syrup).
What Toppings Go with Strawberry Sorbet
Most ice cream toppings will work with sorbet, but we liked to turn ours into a strawberry shortcake-inspired sundae. Homemade whipped cream, macerated strawberries, and store-bought pound cake pieces turn regular strawberry sorbet into an elevated dessert fit for entertaining. Have all of the ingredients ready, and serve up a treat that everyone will want to cool off with.
