We've just found a fantastic Crucial gaming SSD deal, which enables you to grab 1TB of high-speed storage space for just $59.99 / £59.39. That's now the lowest price for this 1TB Crucial P310 SSD, and given that this drive cost $99 in February this year, and was still priced at $74.80 earlier this month, that's a fantastic saving. You'll need to act quickly if you want to grab it, though, as it's listed as a limited-time deal.

The Crucial P310 makes solid use of its 4x PCIe 4.0 interface, with a top sequential read speed of 7,100MB/s, which puts it in the same performance league as some of our top choices in our guide to buying the best gaming SSD. New PCIe 5.0 drives, such as the WD Black SN8100, will be even quicker, of course, but this Crucial drive is still plenty fast enough for most people's needs, and it's a genuine bargain for $59.99.

If you want to take advantage of this deal, you just need to click on this link here to buy the 1TB drive for $59.99, which will give you enough speedy storage space to install Windows and a few of the latest games. If you don't need that much space, you can also grab a bargain by picking up the 500GB version of this drive, which is currently going for just $38.99, although you won't have much room for game installs on it.

You'll need a motherboard with a 4x PCIe 4.0 or PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot in order to run this drive at full speed, but most new motherboards from the last few years will have a connector that will do the trick. The Crucial P310 will also work in older PCIe 3.0 motherboards, but it will top out at around 3,500MB/s in these boards, as the interface doesn't have enough bandwidth to let it stretch its legs.

We also recommend fitting a heatsink to this drive, as while PCIe 4.0 SSDs don't run anywhere near as hot as PCIe 5.0 drives when they're running at full pelt, they do still get hot. Most of the best gaming motherboard designs from the last few years come with SSD heatsinks that will do the job, but you can get third-party heatsinks for a few bucks that will cope with this heat load too.

If you've never upgraded an M.2 SSD before, make sure you check out our full SSD install guide, which takes you through the whole process from start to finish, including fitting a heatsink.
