It's been just over a year since the highly anticipated Ghost of Tsushima made its way over to PC, and I can confirm that it's still worth a play. With a Metacritic score of 83, this highly acclaimed game is a slash hit! Developed by Sucker Punch productions, Ghost of Tsushima may look like just another "open-world," but like an onion, this game has many layers. If you've not got around to playing it, Humble Bundle is currently offering a delightful 33% discount.

Ghost of Tsushima is an action-adventure game epic set against the backdrop of the Mongol Empire's brutal invasion of Japan in 1274. You play as Jin Sakai, a noble samurai whose homeland of Tsushima is invaded by the Mongols led by the ruthless Khoton Khan. You, Jin, survive this attack, but your uncle Lord Shimura is captured, which is sad for you because you're his favorite nephew. Channeling your inner rogue (cue the Rocky-style montage), Jin becomes the legend known as "The Ghost" of Tsushima, adopting unconventional methods that clash with his code of honor. As well as facing off against enemies with samurai grace, you'll engage with stealth and deception.

At its core, this is a story of honor versus revenge, tradition versus new, and the personal cost of becoming something the world fears to save what you love. It's pretty darn compelling too. Ghost of Tsushima is not an RPG game of unparalleled complexity; no, its charm rests elsewhere. It's pensive and reflective, offering a heavy atmosphere where every blade stroke and moral choice shapes your legendary story.

In our Ghost of Tsushima review, Ian Boudreau says "Combat is [a] highlight". He goes on to say, "fights still feel incredibly dynamic and lethal." And gosh, as you travel across the map, you'll encounter many clashing swords. It feels almost therapeutic to slice open the necks of my foes and see their blood splash into the air like a thousand dancing rubies, safe in the knowledge that they'll never see their kids again. Admittedly, one of my favourite things about this game is killing two people at once in Ghost Stance. But, don't be fooled, this game doesn't include gore for the sake of it. (I'm looking at you, Manhunt.) You'll still need to think about strategy.

If you are ready to commit to this tale of fury, focus, and fallen foes, you have until Wednesday, 9th July 2025 to add Ghost of Tsushima director's cut to your Steam library for the price of $40.19/ £33.49. That's a hearty 33% discount! So what are you waiting for? Head over to Humble now because this price is unlikely to be slashed again.
