When is the Hades 2 release date? The mythological roguelike game was revealed during The Game Awards 2022. Despite receiving critical praise for their previous titles, Hades 2 is the first sequel Supergiant Games has ever made.

Hades 2 sees players taking control of Melinoë, a daughter of Hades and sister to the original game's protagonist, Zagreus. Her goal is to defeat the titan Chronos, who attempts to escape imprisonment in the Underworld to seek revenge against the gods of Olympus who trapped him there. The roguelike game is already out in early access, but here's what we know about the full release.

We expect the Hades 2 release date to fall anywhere between Q3 — Q4 2025. The current early access build of Hades 2 is very far in development, players can already complete the game from start to finish.

Alongside June 2025's The Unseen Update, Supergiant confirmed that the game was entering the final phase of development. With early access now beginning to wind down, it's only a matter of time before that all-important launch date materializes.

Just like the original, Hades 2 has been made available as an early access title on PC to help keep the game's balance in check. While the original Hades needed 22 months in early access (December 2018 - September 2020), it also launched with less content than Hades 2. In addition to this, the devs now have experience balancing a game like this, so their expertise should accelerate the development process.
