Netease Games has confirmed the launch date for Marvel Rivals Season 3: The Abyss Awakens, and there's not long to wait. The long-anticipated launch will also mark the arrival of two new heroes, with one a long time coming - and there's a strong hint at the next potential villain.

Marvel Rivals Season 3: The Abyss Awakens officially kicks off on Friday July 11, with the slick new trailer revealing two new Marvel Rivals characters: Blade and The Phoenix Force. Blade's been heavily hinted at by Netease Games for some time, even go so far to take a nap on the Wakanda map after Season 1 ended, but now it looks like he's here for real.

Already one of the best multiplayer games on PC, the latest trailer for Marvel Rivals shows Phoenix facing off against a Knull-infected Hela. Just when she looks like she's done for, everyone's favorite half-vampire, Blade, steps in (in the coolest possible way).

"The Phoenix arrives from across the stars to erase Klyntar before the darkness can rise again," Netease Games explains. "However, she'll require unlikely aid from a warrior of two worlds who lives to fight against the tide of night."

We'll likely see these two heroes rolled out across the season, but when exactly we'll get our hands on each, and what their abilities are, remains a mystery.

In addition to the introduction of these two new playable heroes, the trailer heavily hints that dark symbiote Knull could be Season 3's big bad, though Netease Games hasn't explicitly confirmed this. Considering his involvement in the Klyntar map and prevalence in the trailer, it feels like a safe bet. Fortunately, it's not long until we find out.
