Dead by Daylight's Twisted Masquerade event has been a fan favorite since its inception back in 2022. The chaotic, lavish bash, which celebrates Dead by Daylight's anniversary, has been a staple in fans' calendars, but this is the last year you can enjoy Tryks' mischief. Behaviour Interactive is pulling the plug on Twisted Masquerade after this year's run, resulting in hordes of fans flocking to pay tribute to the beloved event, and a new all-time Steam player peak for the multiplayer horror game.

The fourth (and final) Dead by Daylight Twisted Masquerade event is officially underway in celebration of the multiplayer horror game's ninth anniversary, and players are showing their love for the event in their masses.

Following the release of this year's event on Saturday June 26, Dead by Daylight hit a new all-time peak player record, with 120,717 Killers and Survivors logging in to see what the chaotic Tryks has up her sleeves one final time.

Dead by Daylight Twisted Masquerade 2025 final numbers

Like in previous years, this year's Twisted Masquerade event sees the Dead by Daylight's maps, hooks, and generators adorned with gold and blue decor. But what's a party without a little chaos? Fortunately, our host, the unpredictable Tryks, is once again on hand to provide just that.

At the start of each Trial, five random cards are drawn. Each card impacts gameplay in some way, like granting all players Haste or revealing all player Auras, and they're played one at a time. To change the card that's activated, players collectively need to collect two points, earned through game progression tasks, such as repairing generators and hooking Survivors.

Players can also unlock individual, otherworldly abilities by finding Invitations scattered throughout the maps. The abilities you unlock differ from Killers to Survivors. Survivors benefit from the power to block vaults, spawn pallets, and activate quiet mode, while Killers can teleport Survivors directly to hooks, reduce stun, and remotely break pallets.

It's a brilliant, topsy-turvy event that offers fresh gameplay mechanics and some excellent goodies. Completing event specific challenges during Trials grants you Gilded Trinkets, which you can use to buy cosmetics, including the particularly cool Survivor masks. Given this is your last chance to take part, it's worth grabbing as many of these cosmetics as you can before they disappear.

The final Twisted Masquerade event runs from Saturday June 26, until Thursday July 17, so it's worth logging in each day, even if just for the daily rewards.

While Twisted Masquerade is winding down, Behaviour Interactive has said it will run a new themed event to celebrate its tenth anniversary next year - but it's got big shoes to fill.
