Once planned to be a DLC, Dying Light The Beast has mutated into a proper sequel to Dying Light 2 and the third mainline entry in the zombie slaying series. Original protagonist Kyle Crane is back with a score to settle, and now Techland has confirmed that dockets are returning as well. These are essentially hidden Dying Light The Beast codes that'll earn you free in-game items and cosmetics, and the first few are already out in the wild.

Dockets previously featured in Dying Light and Dying Light 2 (the latter of which sits proudly on our best zombie games list) so it was always assumed that they would return for Dying Light The Beast. However, it's only now that Techland has confirmed it. In the past, these codes have rewarded players with everything from wallpapers for your PC, to superficial cosmetic items, to actual weapons that you can wield in-game, and that looks set to continue once more.

In a new tutorial video, Techland confirms that docket codes will be hidden within social media posts, web pages, official assets, and even lore. While some may be obvious, some may require a keen eye or possibly even some image manipulation to clearly see the code. Once you've found one, you simply go to the official Dying Light dockets website, create or sign in to your account, link it to whichever platform you intend to play Dying Light The Beast on, and enter the code. Any successfully redeemed rewards will be added to Kyle's personal stash in-game.

Despite the Dying Light The Beast release date being several weeks away yet, Techland is clearly eager to get going, because there are already some Docket codes waiting to be claimed. The first is pretty clear, and it's the 924E-D10C-A875 example code that's being used in the tutorial video. However, Techland has teased on X that it "started hiding docket codes a few months ago," and players have already been rifling through old social media posts and official assets. A handy list, posted in the comments of the tutorial video by 'BestGamerAli,' has collated several codes that have been unearthed so far, and having successfully redeemed them myself, I can verify that they all work.

The Dying Light The Beast docket codes found so far are:

  • 924E-D10C-A875
  • 23D4-CEEB-AA27
  • 1984R101P24601
  • CH-29-600623-34
  • TCR 10-09 18:37:11

Note that in Techland's FAQ section on the dockets website, it warns that "some of the codes might only work before the game launches" so make sure to claim these sooner rather than later.

It's good to see that this series tradition is back for Dying Light The Beast - a game I thoroughly enjoyed when I got to try a slice of it at Summer Game Fest. With a bigger focus on survival like the first game and its beautiful rural setting, it's shaping up to be one of the best open-world games of the year.
