Black Ops 7 is finally getting one of Call of Duty's most iconic maps

Summit, one of the most iconic maps in Call of Duty history, is finally making its way to Black Ops 7 as part of the massive Season 3 Reloaded patch, allowing fans like me to relive our glory days from 2010's Black Ops 1. Set in a research facility on top of a snowy mountain, players fight through narrow corridors that all lead to the central research room, with plenty of computers and desks to take cover behind.

First introduced in BO1, Treyarch released updated versions in Black Ops 3 and 4, but 2018 was the last time Summit was seen in a mainline Call of Duty. With BO7 adding a host of historic maps to the FPS game as the seasons go on, it felt like it was only a matter of time before Summit reappeared, and with it, those cable cars that we all spent hours jumping into.

Of course, Summit will look slightly different from how we remember it from Black Ops 1, with graphical enhancements and slight tweaks. For example, the interior offices have now been upgraded to use more futuristic technology as seen in Black Ops 7, although thankfully, the aforementioned cable cars are still the striking red I remember from all those years ago.

The fan-favourite map isn't the only iconic location to come back this month, with Hacienda, a popular competitive map that debuted in Black Ops 4, also scheduled to be part of Season 3 Reloaded. It's not just classic maps coming either, with the brand-new Onsen multiplayer map and Ascent, a Freerun map, also included in the patch.

As always, the mid-season update also introduces the new Siren special weapon, which fires a "high damage, slow-moving projectile," and a Katana melee weapon. There's also plenty for Zombies fans, with the new Totenreich map and main quest easter egg included, too.

Black Ops 7: Season 3 Reloaded launches on Tuesday, April 30 2026 at 9am PST / 12pm EST / 5pm BST / 6pm CEST.
