League of Legends booster puts out post offering "10k per month." Riot absolutely cooks them

The videogame universe feels split down the middle at the moment. Every day brings a new round of X discourse about literally anything, and it feels like we consistently seem to be straying farther and farther from God. The one thing that truly unites us, however, is our hatred for cheaters - no matter your background, no one likes those guys. League of Legends' Director of Product, Drew Levin, has become a walking, talking, Poppy-esque ban hammer, cracking down on myriad rulebreakers over the past few months and establishing himself as somewhat of an icon. Next on his list is a booster called 'Little Peter.'

In a Wednesday, April 22 X post (machine translated from Portuguese), Little Peter states that they "need Challenger players who can boost on NA at Diamond+," claiming that you'll receive up to "31 euros" (note that the rest of the post lists the currency in dollars) for boosting players through the MOBA's apex ranks.

"Ex-pro players preferred or monochampions [one-tricks]," the post continues, with Little Peter alleging that "you can easily make 10k+ per month playing casually and up to 20k cracking the game." Sure, I'm hardly a pro League of Legends player, but I'm pressing X for doubt.

In response to the post, Levin responds, "I'm going to ban everyone who does this, fair warning." Little Peter replies, in Portuguese, "I wanna see you find me." Levin comes back within the hour, writing, "Would you like me to post your main [account] here or what?"

Now writing in English, Little Peter replies with a somewhat sheepish "sorry man, don't shoot me," prompting a handshake emoji response from Levin, who has since reposted the conversation with the caption "open for a fun short story."

While I'm not 100% sure that this exchange will make Little Peter see the error of their ways, it likely means that their account - and any affiliated ones - are at least on Riot's radar.

Boosting has always been a problem in multiplayer games, especially at higher tiers. It's already been a bit of a rough year for apex-level players, with several different matchmaking issues leading Riot to hard reset the ladder coming into Season 2. It's admitted that there'll be a bit of MMR volatility as a result, so boosters roaming free isn't exactly going to be great for the League of Legends ranked ecosystem.

Additionally, paid boosting is against Riot's terms of service and can result in a ban. As of last year, the developer confirmed that a ban in one game can induce an account-wide one that even affects Riftbound, Riot's physical TCG. TLDR? Just don't do it. Otherwise, Levin will find you, and will kill you(r account).
