I'm partial to a good ol' trip around the universe in games like No Man's Sky, but if I'm not on a galaxy-faring adventure, I'll be pushing my competitive limits in the best FPS games. I'm a sucker for stressing myself out, getting pummeled online by people who play far better than I do. So, when Wildgate launched, the combination was a match made for me, and you can try this gem alongside six other shooters for just over $2 in this new Humble Bundle.

Despite having an 80%-rating on Steam from user reviews, granting it a Very Positive tag on the storefront, Wildgate didn't take off as much as I had hoped. The very PvPvE nature of the game means, for the best experience, you'll need to get a crew and face off against other players, all while trying to escape with the precious Artifact. However, with this Humble Bundle, there's no excuse not to give it a chance.

Each match has you playing as one of the many Prospectors (Wildgate's classes), each with their own perks. Adrian is a fast, agile character who is best suited for looting and getting resources. Ion excels at being an offensive machine, focusing on dishing out damage and breaking enemy ships' parts, and there's plenty more that fill in other roles like support or exploration. Each Prospector makes the gunplay and FPS combat feel strategic and tactical - how will you deal with an enemy crew that has a focus on offence, if your team is built on getting in and getting out quickly?

These on-the-fly moments make Wildgate a tense experience with each match. Speaking of flying, it has some of the best spaceship combat I've played in years - and I enjoy a great sci-fi game. It takes a Sea of Thieves-style approach, with each member of your crew commanding different parts - whether you decide to spray the enemy with a hellfire of bullets from the turret, or help escape in the pilot's seat.

Wildgate is just one of the gems you'll get from this bundle. But it also includes Outriders, which is a personal favorite of mine and an underappreciated power fantasy shooter.
