Kingdom Come Deliverance 2's full edition is massively discounted on Fanatical, but not for long

If you've been circling Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 but waiting for the right moment… this might be it. This immersive, medieval RPG has dropped to a much more approachable price on Fanatical, and it isn't just the base game, either. The Royal Edition comes packed with extra bits and pieces, including the Gallant Huntsman's Kit and multiple DLCs, giving you the full experience from the jump.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is set in 15th-century Bohemia, amid the chaos of a civil war. You play Henry of Skalitz, a young man on a quest to avenge the murder of his parents. I know, I know, so original. But hey, a good game is allowed to have a cliché starting point.

What really stands out about KCD2 is the writing. The main story pulls you along nicely, but it's the side quests that give it its unique personality. They can be funny, sometimes bizarre, and are always rooted in the world's logic. The cast also carries a lot of weight here, with relationships and camaraderie adding warmth to what could otherwise be a pretty bleak setting. You're not going to want to pack your bags and move to 15th-century Bohemia after this.

It's not a perfect game, and the progression can feel uneven at times, but that didn't prevent us from giving it a 9/10 in our Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 review. To quote Lowell: "In the end, the nearly 100 hours I spent in the well-traveled boots of Henry of Skalitz were held together by a memorable core cast, humorous and intriguing side quests by the dozens, and a gripping narrative that kept me invested until the satisfying conclusion."

If you were looking for a sprawling RPG worth sinking hundreds of hours into, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 might just be the one, especially if you are tired of fantasy RPGs and want a slightly different context.

Also worth noting that it runs on Steam Deck. It's not the kind of game you'd instinctively think of as handheld-friendly, and it's probably nicer on a PC, but being able to chip away at quests from your bed or a café is a nice bonus.

Price-wise, this drop is significant. The Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Royal Edition is currently sitting at $37.59 / £31.01 instead of £65.99 / $79.99, which is a juicy 53% cut. You can get it at Fanatical before the deal ends on Friday, April 17.

If you like your RPGs immersive, slightly unforgiving, and a bit unpredictable, this is a very easy recommendation at this price. Just go in knowing it won't hold your hand - and that's kind of the point.
