As the new Galactic Civilization 4 DLC rolls out, you can the game at under $3 in the latest Humble Bundle
There's a new Humble Bundle in town, and if you've been circling Galactic Civilizations 4 for a while, the timing is perfect for you. With new DLC continuing to roll out, the bundle drops the base game down to just $2.57 / £2.33 ($18 / £16.32 for the whole thing) which is by far the cheapest it's ever been available at before.
Galactic Civilizations 4 is a classic 4X: explore, expand, exploit, exterminate (there are more ex's here than in my love life), but with other interesting gameplay aspects to keep things interesting. For instance, the galaxy is split into sectors connected by "space roads," which reshapes how you think about expansion and defence.
At launch, it was solid but not revolutionary. A deep, dependable strategy game like many others. But like many grand strategy games, it's the long tail that matters here, and that's where things get interesting.

Over the past couple of years, Galactic Civilizations 4 has been steadily expanded. DLC like Megastructures introduced galaxy-shaping builds such as Dyson spheres, while Tales of the Arnor added entirely new civilizations, tech trees, and strategies. Then there's Supernova, which brought new ship classes, combat tweaks, and even planet-destroying weapons (because sometimes diplomacy just isn't the vibe - thank God, they're not real).
There's still a lot to look forward to. A second expansion pass is already underway, with multiple DLC packs planned through to 2027, including new political systems, genetic modification mechanics, and even a criminal underworld layer - so it's a good time to get into it. It's like buying into an evolving strategy platform.
If you want a deeper dive before jumping in, it's worth checking out our Galactic Civilizations 4 review, where we gave it a nice 8/10 because it "does a great job of finding the fun out among the stars and is a game that offers a truly unique experience each time you play it".
Beyond Galactic Civilizations 4, the Strategic Minds Collection Humble Bundle rounds things out with a handful of other strategy and sci-fi options like:
- Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance
- The Last Spell
- Showgunners Deluxe Edition
- Old World
- Song of Conquest
- Valkyria Chronicles 4
You can get those 7 games for as little as $18 /£16.32, which works out as just $2.57 / £2.33 per month. This bundle is available until Wednesday, April 22, so don't miss your chance to get these games before then.
With ongoing DLC, years of planned support, and a low entry price, this is one of those rare moments where the… late rising bird catches the cheap worm?
