We're hiring! PCGamesN is looking for a Deputy News Editor
PCGamesN serves up all of the latest videogame news to millions of readers across the globe every month. If you know your League of Legends from your Dota, or you prefer whiling away the hours in World of Warcraft or Civilization, then we want to hear from you.
Working alongside our News Editor, Lauren Bergin, you'll coordinate PCGamesN's vibrant news desk. You'll write brilliantly and passionately, and have a keen understanding of SEO and how to seamlessly integrate it into short-form news. You'll be adaptable and able to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure our coverage doesn't skip a beat. Finally, you'll have embedded yourself in online PC gaming communities and have an extensive contact book full of developers, publishers, and PRs. You're not afraid to use them to chase down leads and create unique, exciting stories that you won't find anywhere else.
When the News Editor is sweating it out at Gamescom or spending her annual leave failing to hit platinum in League of Legends, you'll be responsible for the smooth operation of the news team. You'll manage the internal news desk, as well as a pool of trusted freelancers, helping to identify unique angles and new beats. You'll need a keen eye for detail and the ability to multitask, and if you know every strategy game ever made, that's a huge plus.
