New Arc Raiders patch takes another swing at Stella floor exploits, and stops you from spontaneously combusting

Unless it's the end of the month, Arc Raiders patches are usually fairly slim affairs; a handful of bug fixes at best, keeping things ticking over until something bigger comes along. Today's patch does contain bug fixes, but they have me breathing a sigh of relief - and wondering just what the hell was happening by that Medical Research room in Stella.

The Arc Raiders 1.23.0 patch locks down a lot of funny business - some of which I didn't even know was possible. There was an issue where, when detonated together, two Trigger Nades could cause three times the damage, completely decimating anything in the area. Issues like that seem fairly innocent, as people spam grenades all the time and might not know. What some people do know, however, are that there are spots on Stella Montis where walls seemingly don't exist.

Clipping into walls has been such an issue in Stella. It's a nightmare most of the time, with the claustrophobic corridors and dark rooms being the perfect spot for ambushes without players being able to climb into the scenery. Thankfully, this patch closes off another instance in the FPS game where players can be shot through the floor.

If the dark corners and sudden, continuous threat of being shot weren't bad enough, there was also an issue in Stella Montis where you could be mysteriously set on fire when approaching the locked door near Medical Research. That's been fixed, too, but it makes you wonder why anyone goes near that godforsaken place.

There is joyous news for those who have been digging into the Flashpoint update, too. Attempting to loot those Assessors is tricky business at the best of times, what with the mob of Arc that descends as soon as you get near. There were a handful of bugs that caused players to get stuck on the small platforms of the Assessor, making you a sitting duck for anything with a firearm in the area, and a bug that kept those Arc threats in the area even when idling. Thankfully, these have been fixed with the new patch, so if you die while looting, you've nobody to blame but yourself.

The Arc Raiders patch is out right now. Restart your game if you don't see any update, which should fix things, and be a bit more confident that if you venture near Medical Research, you won't find flames suddenly licking at your feet.
