Ahead of its full remaster, the most relaxing building game ever is yours for free on Steam, but be quick
As it approaches its eighth birthday, and with over ten million players to its name, House Flipper is yours for free on Steam ahead of its full-scale remaster. One of the best building games, and certainly among the most relaxing of them, the home makeover sim is being given away in preparation for the upcoming launch of the House Flipper Remastered Collection, which is due later this year. Not only can you grab a copy of the original for free, but you can also snag a discount on the new version for doing so, so don't miss out.
House Flipper has earned itself a spot alongside the likes of Powerwash Simulator on the Mount Rushmore of soothing simulation games. It turns you into a one-person wrecking crew, buying houses, smashing out the old and bringing in the new. Vacuum floors, bash down walls, eliminate bug infestations, and bring out the paint roller to get the right finish… pretty much every step of the renovation process is here in some form. It's even got a progression system that lets you gradually upgrade your tools for a smoother experience.
"We want to be completely transparent with you," publisher Frozen District explains in a post detailing the pricing plans for the House Flipper Remastered Collection. The new release includes a "significantly improved version" of the original game, along with the full complement of all its DLC. It's priced at $49.99 (or your regional equivalent), which the studio compares to the approximately $120 you'd spend if you bought the old game and all add-ons at their launch price.

If you've already invested in House Flipper, you'll get a discount based on what you own as a thank-you from the team. "We also want to reward our loyal community," it writes. "Depending on how many 'big' DLC (Garden, HGTV, Luxury, Pets, Farm, Dine Out) from the original game you already have in your Steam library, your price will automatically drop:"
- Base game only: $46
- Base game and one DLC: $41
- Base game and two DLC: $37
- Base game and three DLC: $32
- Base game and four DLC: $27
- Base game and five DLC: $22
- Base game and six DLC: $16
House Flipper is free to keep on Steam if you claim it before Monday April 6 at 2am PT / 5am ET / 10am BST / 11am CEST. Grab it here, where you can also pick up its DLC on offer. Keep the above discounts in mind if you're considering doing so, and plan to buy the House Flipper Remastered Collection when it launches.
The House Flipper Remastered Collection is set to launch in the second quarter of 2026. A playtest is ongoing until Monday April 6, and you can still apply to join if you want to test it out, with two jobs and one purchasable house to experiment with. Developer Frozen Way is looking for your thoughts, and wants to know if there's anything else you think needs to be touched up for the remaster in true House Flipper fashion.
"We are monitoring all the feedback and comments, and we've already fixed a few issues you found! After the survey is closed, we will carefully analyze every comment and pinpoint the things that still need some work." The survey will remain open for "a few days longer than the playtests," giving you time to collect your final thoughts.
