This week's Epic Games freebie is 96%-rated on Steam, and lets you hack up robots while riding dinosaurs

Imagine you're Obi-Wan Kenobi on Utapau. You're marauding across the planet atop your trusty dino-adjacent pal, Boga, while cleaving through battledroids with your lightsaber. It's a fabulous time for all organic lifeforms involved. This week's Epic Games freebie, Clone Drone in the Danger Zone, has a similar vibe going for it, though in Doborog Games' voxel-based arena slice-em-up, you're more General Grievous than Kenobi.

In Clone Drone in the Danger Zone, hereafter referred to as 'Clone Drone' purely because the action game's full title is a bit much, your mind has been transferred into the customizable body of a robot gladiator. You'll want to make sure you look your best before heading out into the colosseum, so definitely spend some time mixing and matching your style once you've nabbed it from Epic Games. From what I've seen, you can whack on everything from a horse head, to some weird, evil Mickey Mouse-style visage, so there's some solid variety.

As for what you'll get up to in the arena itself, well, it's carnage. Clone Drone lets you cut off any body part, making it the perfect sandbox to showcase your saber skills. But there are, as the trailer notes, "so many ways to die." Sawblade unicycles, laserbeam-firing T-Rexes, and even the mighty hobby horse can all be used to make short work of the colosseum's combatants. If you've played through Dark Messiah recently, all of that Sir Kicksalot muscle memory will come in clutch here, too.

Clone Drone looks like it'd make for a great little party game, and it certainly has the modes for it. Whether you jump into the battle royale-like Last Bot Standing, or team up with your pals to blast through waves of robots, Doborog has the multiplayer element down. If one of your besties has beef, then settle the score with a good ol' fashioned 1v1 in its Private Duel mode. Clone Drone sits at 96%-rated on Steam (it's achieved the coveted 'Overwhelmingly Positive' status), so you know you're in for a good time.

Clone Drone is free to keep from Thursday, April 2 until Thursday, April 9, 2026. You can grab it here.

Clone Drone would typically set you back $19.99 / £15.99 on the Epic Games Store, so use this opportunity to grab it for the price of air, and pull your mates in for a weekend of wanton destruction.
