The Lost Ark June update opens up a new island and makes two raids easier

The Lost Ark June update is here, and it introduces a new location to the free-to-play Amazon Games MMORPG, along with some extra story following on from its newest raid. The patch also makes several previous raids easier, with difficulty nerfs and the introduction of a resurrection system, and introduces a style book that helps you manage your character customization. It's the latest in an ongoing series of changes as Amazon attempts to spice things up in an attempt to win players back.

Once the biggest game on Steam, Lost Ark is still a worthy member of our best MMORPGs, combining ARPG mechanics with intense multiplayer. Its long-form endgame grind can be off-putting if you're a new player, or haven't been keeping up, so Amazon Games is working on updates, including an experimental mode, provisionally called Paradise, designed to appeal to a wider audience. The Lost Ark June update, however, introduces several new features you can dive into right away.

A mysterious new location called Yornujan Island has appeared off the coast of Rimeria, and offers a new main quest for players who are item level 1640 or higher. Along with assisting young Yoz in the process of honing their illusion abilities, there's a fresh daily quest that gives out honing materials, Transcendence Restoration tickets, and other rewards. You'll also find new Mokoko Seeds, achievements, and another music sheet.

If you've already completed the third act of the Kazeros Raid, you'll be able to follow it up with a new story quest, Beyond the Dark Fog. The raid has also been made a little more approachable, however, with the introduction of individual resurrections, which gives each character the ability to manually resurrect once per gate by using a Phoenix Plume. You'll only have a limited time to make use of it, and your cooldowns will stay as they were before your character fell.

Both gates of the Epic raid and acts zero through two of the Kazeros raid have also been nerfed "to smooth out difficulty spikes while preserving each encounter's intended challenge and mechanics." Certain enemy attacks are now less damaging or hit a smaller area, and some boss fights, such as the normal and hard difficulty of Kazeros Act 2, Gate 2, now have lower health pools.

Rounding out today's update is the new Lost Ark Stylebook. This can be opened in character creation or the reskin mode, and allows you to save up to 40 styles across your account. There's also a screenshot storage system that can hold up to 80 temporary and 40 permanent images, which can then be displayed in a frame in your Stronghold.
