This modder just added drivable cars to CS2, and it works shockingly well

Move aside, surfers, a new form of racing might be on the cards in Counter-Strike 2. Angel Cazacu, best known for creating the Dogtown Wingman map, has utilized his programming skills to add physics to the game's vehicles, making it possible to drive some of the previously stationary cars. In his videos, Cazacu shows off his creation on Inferno, opting for the three-wheeled vehicle stationed at CT spawn to go on a brief tour around the map.

I'm adding fully physics driven vehicles to #CS2

It calculates realistic tire friction and suspension forces, then applies them to the vehicle to make it move like a real car

As Cazacu explains on X, he has taken advantage of the scripting system to calculate and apply forces to objects with velocity. By applying velocity and angular velocity to specific objects - in this case, wheels - Cazacu has worked out how to create drivable vehicles in the FPS game. It's far more detailed than it sounds, with the modder explaining that the engine "calculates realistic tire traction and suspension forces, then applies them to the vehicle to make it move like a real car."

The scripting system in CS2 was updated back in September 2025 in the Show Off update, giving creators with Javascript knowledge the power to create custom game modes. While we've seen glimpses of brilliance from some designers posting their works in progress, CS2 hasn't been built with community servers in mind, making it difficult for casual players to experience these creations firsthand.

Valve hasn't brought back the Danger Zone battle royale-style game mode that was introduced to CSGO years ago, but if it did, drivable vehicles like the ones Cazacu has shown off could make it much more engaging. It could be interesting to see which CS2 maps could serve as a suitable racecourse - a few laps around Dust 2 before heading into a Premier match might help settle any pre-game nerves.

Just as shocking as it is to see a vehicle drive down the streets of Inferno, I'm surprised to see that the roads are wide enough to support this unintended functionality without needing to be modified first. We probably won't be seeing any vehicles driving through Banana during a B rush any time soon, though this could help to make Inferno a little less T-sided…

Cazacu jokes that his drivable vehicles could be coming "to a racing map near you," but that might not be completely far-fetched given how stable his creations look in the videos he has posted. We don't know whether the modder has any plans to take his creation any further than this, so you'll need to follow him on X for any potential updates.
