A fan favorite mode is finally returning to Fortnite after a seven year wait
Nostalgia for the early days of Fortnite is strong. Fortnite OG has brought back various old seasons, some of the coolest weapons, and even a few of the best limited-time modes. Now, alongside Fortnite OG's return to Chapter 1 Season 8 this week, the massively popular Marvel Endgame LTM is also returning. The mode's return has been confirmed by a tease on Fortnite's social media channels, and players have collectively gone wild.

Chapter 1 Season 8 comes to Fortnite OG on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, and Marvel Endgame will join the action two days later, on April 3. The mode made its debut in that same season almost seven years ago. At the height of Fortnite's popularity, Endgame was hugely popular, and it's widely considered to be among the best LTMs the battle royale game has ever seen.
Since the mode's return has only been teased, we don't know whether it'll return exactly as it was in 2019. Considering how closely previous Fortnite OG seasons have copied their original versions, the Marvel Endgame return will likely only see a few quality-of-life changes. I, for one, will be happy if it's not changed too much.
The mode was originally released the same week as Avengers: Endgame was in theaters. In the LTM, two teams of players with unlimited spawns fought to win the match. One team was the Avengers, with access to gear like Spider-Man's web slinger, who needed to kill their opponents 150 times to stop them from spawning.

The Avengers' opponents were the Chitauri, whose aim was to collect all of the Infinity Stones that were scattered around the map. If they were able to collect all of the stones, Thanos would be extremely powerful, and the Avengers would struggle to defeat him.
Once the new season of Fortnite OG begins on April 1, we will learn more about how Marvel Endgame will work. It'll be interesting to see how many players are brought back to the game to relive what might be their favorite Fortnite mode of all time. Let's hope it lives up to our memories.
