ALDI's $5 Dupe of a Viral Midwest Favorite Is Finally Back in Stores

If you live in the Midwest, you may very well know breakfast pizza is the pride and joy of a regional gas station chain called Casey’s. The pizza is pretty simple—topped with cheese, scrambled eggs, and your choice of bacon, sausage, or veggies—but it’s seriously satisfying. The fan consensus is that, as one Redditor put it, “it is way too good for being gas station food.”

Casey's pizza makes frequent appearances on social media, including this recent viral video from TikToker @thorson19, who called the dish "the reward for staying in the Midwest." But if you live outside of the Midwest, ALDI has you covered. ALDI's breakfast pizza just returned to stores after a lengthy hiatus, and the idea of starting the day with a slice of pizza sounds pretty appealing.

The pizza is available in two varieties—topped with pork belly and bacon crumbles or sausage. The sausage pizza features country-style gravy and a blend of mozzarella and cheddar, while the pork belly version adds green peppers and onions to the gravy and cheese. Both pizzas also feature a flaky biscuit crust and cost just $5 a pie.

ALDI Fans Want Breakfast Pizza to Stick Around

The last time ALDI brought breakfast pizza to its aisles, customers were disappointed that it didn't stick around.

“They need to make these permanent because I always pick up 2 or 3 of the sausage ones,” one fan wrote on the grocery chain’s subreddit, r/ALDI. “It’s life-changing,” another fan added.
