This month, Costco’s bakeries are all about seasonal spring ingredients. Ahead of St. Paddy’s Day, the retailer dropped a $3 Double Chocolate Mint Sundae—and don’t forget about their 10-pound chocolate Easter bunny, either.

If you’re looking for a more traditional spring dessert, then you should keep your eyes peeled for Costco’s Kirkland Signature Lemon Custard Pie during your next shopping trip. This bright yellow pie offers a springtime spin on the brand’s fan-favorite key lime pie

A Buttery Crust and Luscious Lemon Filling

The star of the pie is the lemon custard filling, surrounded by flaky pie crust and topped with swirls of whipped topping. It’s rich, creamy, and makes for a gorgeous spring table centerpiece. The four-pound pie retails for $19 at Costco, but is it worth adding to your cart?

So far, many shoppers are enjoying this fresh spring addition to Costco’s bakery. “…it’s definitely sweet, but it has a little tang to it, and the crust is very buttery and flaky,” commented @costcohotfinds on their review of the pie.

“I bought the lemon custard pie today, and it’s delicious,” said another commenter on a video of the dessert. “It’s not tart, but you can definitely taste the lemon.”

Shoppers also say that the curd is soft and indulgent, and that the pie has a nice texture. For under $20, it’s a beautiful spring dessert to enjoy on your outdoor patio or to serve after Easter dinner

Some Fans Wish the Pie Had More Bite

However, not everyone is obsessing over the pie. If you’re a fan of super tart lemon desserts, then this Costco bakery treat might not be for you. Customers say the curd is a sweet dessert with a light lemon flavor, but it doesn’t pack an acidic punch.

Online, the divided opinions mostly come from the lemon flavor itself. If you have a sweet tooth and aren’t a fan of sour desserts, this lemon pie should be right up your alley. But if you were hoping for a very strong lemon flavor, Costco members say that you can safely skip the pie this time.
