Killing Floor 3 system requirements

This gore-tastic FPS was originally set to arrive back in March, but has since been delayed. Despite this, the Killing Floor 3 system requirements have not yet changed. You might want to consider upgrading your gaming PC if your parts are starting to look a little dusty, especially because Killing Floor 3 demands significant upgrades over its predecessor, but a nine-year gap between releases will do that.

You won't need the very best graphics card to start blasting zombies, sorry, I mean Zeds, when the new Killing Floor 3 release date comes around. However, this is one game where you'll want to target the recommended specs to experience the new M.E.A.T dismemberment system in all its glory. Elsewhere, a suspiciously small install size has me thinking that large high-resolution texture files aren't a focus for developer Tripwire Interactive.

Here are the Killing Floor 3 system requirements:

The Killing Floor 3 minimum requirements are a mixed bag. The low demands of an Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU alongside an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 480 will be achievable for most players with older gaming PCs.

However, the 16GB RAM demand and need for an SSD could trip some players up. In fact, if you're making the upgrade, we'd even recommend jumping up to 32GB, as you can do so for well under $70.

As for the Killing Floor 3 recommended specs, these take a notable jump-up, including a two-generation step in graphics card requirement.

That said, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 is still a 60-series card, and a relatively underpowered one at that. In comparison, the AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT is a significantly more powerful card. In fact, the 6750 XT ranks 33rd in average benchmark scores on UserBenchmark while the RTX 3060 sits in 66th. It's not often that the selected graphics cards for system requirements are so far apart in performance.

Elsewhere, you'll need an Intel Core i7-9700K or AMD Ryzen 7 7700X gaming CPU, but the RAM requirements don't change and you'll still only need 16GB.

No Killing Floor 3 ultra specs have been revealed, but once the upcoming closed beta has concluded, developer Tripwire Interactive may have the data it needs to determine where such requirements will sit.

As for the Killing Floor 3 download size, I've already mentioned that it's suspiciously small, coming in at just 20GB. At a time when game file sizes are getting out of control, this is a nice surprise. You will need an SSD to install it, ideally, one of the best SSDs for gaming, if you don't already have one.

One potential reason for this reduced size that I've already alluded to is a reduction in the use of high-resolution texture files. In my experience playing previous Killing Floor games, the environments can be quite dark, and the action is fast-paced. This means there is no need for super high-fidelity assets to be used on maps, instead, this can be saved for enemies and weapons.
