What does the Colossal Flower do in Slay the Spire 2?

What does the Colossal Flower do? In Slay the Spire 2, you'll come across several events that ask you to make a choice that can have a big impact on the rest of your run. Usually these events have two options: a safer choice with a smaller reward, or a better reward with a more dangerous path.

The Colossal Flower is just one of these events in Slay the Spire 2, but will you choose to take the money and run, or reach deeper into the center of the flower for a more coveted prize? Unlike the Byrdonis Egg which has to be carried to a rest site, or the Lantern Key which requires you to carry it to the next act, this event provides an immediate buff, if you're willing to make the sacrifice.

You'll come across this event in Act 2, a Colossal Flower growing atop a mountain of bones. You have the option of extracting nectar to earn gold, or reaching deeper for a more lucrative prize at the cost of HP.

The event has three stages; in the first stage, you have the choice of either losing 5 HP to proceed or extracting nectar, earning 35 gold and walking away. If you choose to reach deeper, in the second stage you can extract 75 gold or reach even deeper, losing 6 HP. On the final stage, you can walk away with 135 gold or reach into the center, losing 7 HP but obtaining the Pollinous Core relic.

What does the Pollinous Core relic do?

If you can afford to lose 18 HP to reach the center of the flower and take the Pollinous Core relic, it's well worth doing so. Every four turns you draw an additional two cards, perfect for decks that cycle through cards quickly, but it suits almost any deck if you sacrifice health.
