Head over to your local Trader Joe’s this week, and you’ll likely smell a sweet fragrance long before you make it inside. That means flowering pink jasmine plants have finally arrived, a sure sign that spring has sprung at the grocery chain.

These flowering plants retail for $10, and they come in a pot wrapped in pink foil. In the past, pink jasmine plants have only been available at Trader Joe’s for a week or two, and they sell out quickly. When they arrive at your local store, make sure you grab one before they’re gone. Not only are they easy to care for, but they’re also the quickest way to give your garden a spring makeover.

Transform Your Trellis with Trader Joe's Pink Jasmine

Jasmine is a quick-growing plant, and there’s plenty of evidence that Trader Joe’s shoppers have completely transformed their backyards with the retailer’s pink jasmine. Within just one year, your jasmine could grow to take over an entire trellis, filling your yard with a sweet scent all spring long.

A trellis full of jasmine makes a good privacy screen or yard divider in any garden. Full or partial sun will help your jasmine thrive; make sure it’s watered regularly and stays moist. Outdoors, it grows best in USDA plant hardiness zones 8-11. With trellis supports, your jasmine could grow up to 10 feet in a single year; within five years of planting, yours should reach at least 20 feet if grown outdoors.

Trader Joe’s Pink Jasmine Can be Grown Indoors, Too

If your climate isn’t suitable for growing pink jasmine outside, never fear. Growing jasmine indoors is easy and will make your entire home smell beautiful. Place your jasmine plant in a spot with plenty of light, attach a trellis to its pot so it can climb as it grows, and fertilize it occasionally during its growth season.

Whether kept indoors or outdoors, Trader Joe’s customers have confirmed in the past that the retailer’s pink jasmine plants are easy to grow and bloom consistently every year. Many say that their jasmine has been growing happily for years.
