Costco is taking classic Easter candies to a new level this year—and the new bite will put the average chocolate bunny to shame. The next time you stop by your local Costco, you’re bound to find a crowd of customers staring at the retailer’s giant 10-pound chocolate Easter bunny, complete with white chocolate ears and an adorable flower-shaped tail.

Costco might be known for its bulk sweets—like its 4.5-pound cheesecake that went viral earlier this year—but this one undeniably takes the Easter basket

The larger-than-life chocolate bunny is named Pete, and Costco members are obsessed with how cute this bunny is. “Easter centerpiece is such a fun idea!” commented one Instagram user on a @costcohotfinds Reel. “I call the ear piece,” joked another.

Pete is primarily made of milk chocolate, with a white chocolate stomach and ears. The detailing on this chocolate bunny—including the eyes and nose—is all dark chocolate. Carved whiskers and a mouth complete Pete’s smiling face. The chocolate is semi-solid; some parts, such as the ears, are hollow, while others are completely filled with chocolate.

By far the best part of this huge chocolate treat is the instructions for eating it. Costco recommends wrapping it in a towel and smashing it into pieces with a hammer. You can also warm a butter knife and slice pieces for a group, or pass it around the table so everyone can break off some chocolate.

Customers have found that the Easter treat retails for around $140, which comes to about $14 per pound of chocolate. “That price had people stopping in their tracks,” said one Instagram commenter

Fortunately, many Costco members are speculating on social media that the bunny’s price will be significantly reduced once Easter is over, so it might be worth waiting to score a solid deal on this semi-solid hunk of chocolate. Similar giant chocolates from holidays past have seen massive clearance sales; after Valentine’s Day, a 5.5-pound chocolate heart dropped from $87 to $10 at some Costco locations.

Offerings Vary

Depending on what region you’re in, your chocolate bunny (and its price tag) might look a little bit different. Costco customers have reported seeing a 4.4-pound chocolate bunny in place of the 10-pound option; this bunny is just as big, but has a hollow interior. Its price typically sits closer to $70.

If you decide to adopt Pete before Easter rolls around, be sure to store the chocolate rabbit in a cool place, away from sunlight.
