Frozen coffee creamers are the new drink topping everyone is obsessing over—and we’re not just talking about putting your creamer in the freezer for a while. Coffee mate has come up with the genius idea of creating an icy-cold coffee creamer that comes in a pint. 

No doubt inspired by the ever-growing love for cold foam, Coffee mate’s Cool Crème Frozen Creamer is a fluffy and totally chill way to enjoy your morning latte. The brand recommends trying it over both hot and iced coffee—and we also think it would be an excellent way to finish your cup of hot chocolate or matcha

What to Know About Coffee Mate's New Creamers

There are two flavors of Cool Crème hitting stores this year: Cookies & Crème Crumble and Vanilla Caramel Swirl. Each pint retails for around $5. While they may look like pints of ice cream, customers say the flavor is way too concentrated to eat the frozen coffee creamers on their own. When paired with a fresh cup of coffee, however, those who have tried the Cool Crèmes say it tastes like a deliciously rich and stable cold foam. 

"[It's] like a cold foam that keeps its shape longer and adds some extra body to your drink," said one Instagram commenter who tried the new creamers. "Tried it on a dirty soda and it worked nicely there too," they added.

For best results, Coffee mate recommends allowing the frozen creamer to thaw for ten minutes before topping your coffee so that it reaches a perfect, cold-foam-like consistency.

Currently, the frozen coffee creamers are being tested out via Heinens and GoPuff, but customers across the U.S. are already imploring Coffee mate to bring their new coffee creamers to retailers nationwide. Given the demand, most speculate that Nestlé will make the Cool Crème creamers widely available soon. 

While we wait for Coffee mate’s frozen creamer flavors to make their nationwide debut, why not try making frozen creamer at home? To make your own homemade cold foam taste more like a frozen creamer, use heavy cream for the base; this helps create a richer, thicker, and more stable texture. You can also try placing your ingredients in the freezer for a few minutes before using them to make your cold foam extra cold.
