Whether you have a special romantic dinner at home planned or just love chocolate and fruit together, you can't go wrong with a chocolate-dipped strawberry for dessert. It's simple to make, but we're sharing our best method for making chocolate-covered strawberries that are smooth, shiny, and perfectly set.

Ingredients
-
10 to 12 medium fresh strawberries
-
1/2 cup (3 oz.) milk chocolate melting wafers (such as Ghirardelli)
-
3 oz. chopped bittersweet chocolate
Directions
-
Rinse fresh strawberries under cool running water. Pat dry. Let stand until dry, 20 minutes.
-
Meanwhile, in a medium bowl combine milk chocolate melting wafers and chopped bittersweet chocolate. Microwave, stirring every 20 seconds, until melted and smooth, 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. -
Dip berries into chocolate mixture to coat, allowing excess to drip off. Place berries on a waxed paper–lined tray. Let stand at room temperature until coating is firm, 1 hour.
If your kitchen is warm, you can place the dipped strawberries in the fridge for 10 minutes to set.
How to Store Chocolate-Covered Strawberries
We recommend serving and eating immediately after they set, but you can store the dipped strawberries, loosely covered, at room temperature up to 24 hours. Do not place in an airtight container—this will cause strawberries to weep.
