Do you necessarily need an 8K TV right now? Not exactly. There's still not a ton of 8K content out there to even take advantage of an 8K TV's incredible resolution. This type of free TV promo is quintessential clearing house that we see from the big retailers every winter. The cycle kicks off at CES in early January, when the big brands unveil their 2026 TV lineups. But most of those announced flagship TVs don't actually become available for sale until March or April, leaving February as the key month to downsize stock of last year's TVs. The timing just happens to line up perfectly with the biggest football game of the year.
