We’re ditching fruits and chocolates this Valentine’s Day in favor of something a lot more savory. After Grillo's launch last year of their now-famous pickle bouquet, we've been looking forward to the restock ever since. And while the bouquet sold out in under a minute after this year's launch, there's no need to fret. Another drop is coming soon, and in the meantime, we're providing step-by-step instructions to make your own in case you're impatient like us.

A Love Letter to All Things Pickled

Grillo’s Pickles knows how to celebrate Valentine’s Day right, and that includes something even more special than a jar of pickles. You need a pickle bouquet if you want to declare your love the right way on Feb. 14, and the Grillo’s viral Pickle Bouquet Kit is the way to go. Each kit contains all the supplies you’ll need to create a mouthwatering display of pickles (plus a few tips to make your bouquet really pop).

How to Make Your Own Grillo’s-Approved Pickle Bouquet

Although they are currently sold out, the brand came up with a way you can still make your favorite pickle-lover swoon.

Gather Supplies

Start with a jar (or three) of Grillo’s pickles. The famous pickle brand then recommends finding a floral foam base, tissue paper, floral filler, a vase, and 15 wooden skewers (to hold the pickles, of course). This year, Grillo's bouquet came with a collectible pickle pint glass as the vase; you might want to use an empty pickle jar for your own at-home arrangement.

Start Assembling

Get creative by skewering more than just pickles: sliced, crinkle-cut, and little gherkin pickles will add the variety of a classic floral arrangement to your pickle bouquet. For floral filler, consider fresh dill, thyme, and basil for an edible bouquet that pairs beautifully with your skewered pickles.

Next, Grillo's suggests covering your foam cylinder in floral tissue. Place the wrapped foam at the bottom of the vase. Fill approximately 15 skewers with a delightful assortment of briney pickles, and arrange them by inserting the base of each skewer into the floral foam. Add your filler, and you’ve got a bouquet that will make any pickle lover beam with delight.

Jazz It Up

Take Grillo’s expert advice and go big with your pickle bouquet. The brand recommends pairing lots of edible extras with your pickles. Fresh mozzarella balls and cherry tomatoes make for a Caprese-inspired treat. Rich and salty cubed cheeses, spicy jalapeños, folded prosciutto, and other pickled foods—like pepperoncini or olives—make for an arrangement no one will be able to stop snacking on.

Top it off with a handwritten card, and you'll be crowned the best gift-giver this holiday.
