What is the Chrono Odyssey release date? Chrono Studio's time-tweaking action MMO has been a hot ticket item ever since its reveal, and it's no wonder considering the stunning Unreal Engine 5 visuals and dynamic combat system being promised.

Since its 2020 unveiling, regular Chrono Odyssey dev snippets have been posted online, offering regular glimpses at what could be one of the year's best MMO games. As the promised launch window edges closer, beta testing for the space-time fantasy epic has been announced. Read on for the latest.

Chrono Odyssey will launch in Q4 2025. This window has been reaffirmed multiple times across Kakao Games' earnings reports. Chrono Odyssey will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Since it first surfaced in the Q1 2024 report, Chrono Odyssey has always been set for a 2025 launch. Q2 2024 initially offered a Q3 2025 launch window, though this was revised to Q4 in the Q3 2024 report. In May 2025, Kakao Games published its Q1 2025 report, reiterating that Chrono Odyssey will arrive in the fourth quarter of this year.

While yes, the goalposts for launch have moved ever so slightly between reports, the recently announced closed beta, plus the way marketing has been ramping up, give us reason to believe Chrono Studio won't need to push the game back into 2026.

Chrono Odyssey beta

The Chrono Odyssey closed beta will take place from Friday, June 20, 2025 at 12am PDT / 3am EDT / 8am BST until Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 11:59pm PDT and Monday, June 23, 2025 at 2:59am EDT / 7:59am BST.

Chrono Studio shared the Chrono Odyssey beta schedule on Steam. The beta will only be available to the North America, Europe, and Asia servers. The studio stresses that this is a server restriction only, and you'll still be able to play from any location - just be aware of latency issues if you're not close to any of these servers.

To get involved, request access on the Chrono Odyssey Steam page and wait to see if you get in. Access isn't guaranteed and will be granted in phases starting from June 19 and continuing throughout the beta period.

Chrono Odyssey trailers

Chrono Odyssey only has a handful of trailers. As mentioned, this has been balanced against shorter, sweeter snippets showcased on the game's socials.

The most recent Chrono Odyssey trailer aired during Summer Game Fest 2025. Throughout the trailer, we're treated to glimpses of massive boss fights, some of the equipment you'll be able to kit your character out in, plus some of the time-bending abilities you can wield.

Several weeks before SGF, a closed beta for the game was announced, with its own trailer showing off some of the void-based entities you'll get to tussle with in Setera.

March 2024's State of Unreal trailer was all about displaying the sheer scale of the game. From hulking structures to goliathan bosses, crumbling archipelagos to all-out war, a lot is going on here.

The State of Unreal trailer aired nearly a whole year after Chrono Odyssey's big gameplay reveal. The four-minute video is filled with flashy combos and large-scale encounters as far as the eye can see.

Finally, returning right to the beginning, we have the first official trailer from 2020. This incredible cinematic establishes the core thematics of both world and story, while hinting at the sort of combat system the game would come to incorporate.

Chrono Odyssey gameplay

Chrono Odyssey is an action MMO that should feel familiar if you've spent any time with Amazon's New World. There are six different classes to choose from at launch: Assassin, Berserker, Paladin, Ranger, Sorcerer, and Swordsman. Likewise, 18 different weapon types will be available on day one, presumably split evenly between each class. Similarly to New World and Throne & Liberty, you can have two interchangeable weapons equipped at once, shaping your playstyle.

Before you set out into the lush world of Setera, you'll have to make your character. From what was showcased back at GDC 2024's State of Unreal event, plenty of creative options are available to you. Chrono Studio CEO Bae Bong-geon says: "Through our extremely flexible customization system, players can express their personality by creating their character, ensuring that each character you meet in Setera is as unique as your own."

As a Sentinel of Setera you'll have plenty of world bosses and other large-scale encounters to get your blade stuck into. You'll also need to purge Void Nexuses to slow the world's corruption. These spawn waves of ads and bosses that need to be taken down, while the nexus core must be destroyed.

The time-space element of Chrono Odyssey really comes into play in its Labyrinths. These puzzle-filled dungeons require platforming prowess and quick wit to navigate, and hopefully, the rewards will be worth the time and effort.

Fishing is a core component of any MMO worth its salt, and Chrono Odyssey isn't skimping out. Angling constitutes one of the numerous 'life skills' you'll be able to undertake. It's all fairly standard stuff: chop tree, mine rock, make cool stuff, but it's there.
