When it's hot out and you don't want to cook dinner, it's tempting to pick up the phone and order a pizza to be delivered to your door. For a lighter, fresher take, give this Pizza Salad a try. A base of crunchy romaine and radicchio lettuce is topped with supreme pizza pie flavors, including pepperoni, artichokes, olives, and pepperoncini peppers. Of course, there's plenty of cheese too, from fresh mozzarella pearls to a sun-dried tomato and herb dressing that's reminiscent of pizza sauce. Mini breadsticks as cute as they are delicious top off the recipe. Don't forget the Parmesan!

Tips for Making Pizza Salad

For the tiny breadsticks, make sure to let your pizza dough come up to room temperature (usually 30 minutes to 1 hour). This will make it easier to roll out.
Choose heartier greens such as romaine and radicchio here. They hold up nicely against heavy toppers.
We chose some of our favorite toppers to make this pizza salad. If there's an ingredient you're not fond of, leave it out and feel free to add whatever toppings you like. Other proteins such as cooked bacon, chicken, or sausage would be great here. Extra fresh veggies such as bell peppers or mushrooms would also be delicious in this pizza salad.
