Hytale roadmap - all updates coming in 2026 and beyond
Hytale roadmap - all updates coming in 2026 and beyond
What's in the Hytale roadmap? After an incredibly rocky development period spanning over a decade, marked by a company buyout, subsequent cancellation, and now an early access release, Hytale's launch signals the start of a brand-new era for Hypixel Studios.
With Hytale players already starting to ask for features like controller support and a working mana system, the community wants to see a Hytale roadmap to help make the wait for upgrades and improvements more bearable. The developers have stressed that the early access launch is a four-year-old build of the game and that there's still plenty of work to do. Here's when you can expect the latest Hytale features to drop.

Hypixel Studios currently doesn't have a roadmap available and says it's waiting for community feedback "within the next weeks and months from actual Hytale players" before providing one.
This information comes from a news post on the Hytale website where the developers explain what features are currently in the works. The team says it plans to release updates "quickly and frequently" over the first few months before setting out to launch bigger bespoke updates and establishing a release cadence.
Here's what is set to arrive in the Hytale early access build in the future:
- Adventure mode
- Minigames
- Social features
- World Gen V2
Adventure mode
Unlike Hytale's Exploration and Creative modes, which encourage you to find your own fun, the planned Adventure mode is said to include a "rich story and narrative elements, deeper progression systems, dungeons with boss fights, and more". There are some crumbs as to what players can expect from this mode by looking at the Hytale console commands, including aspects of the mana system that have yet to be explored.
Minigames
You can already find Hytale servers with minigames built in; however, the developers want to go further by integrating the minigames directly into the game. In the blog post from January 13, 2026, the devs say work on official minigames will begin in the coming months.
Hypixel Studios has noted that it does have a dedicated team working on this functionality and that minigames will be added "once the core game is stable". The team has not defined what "stable" means, so it's unclear how long players will have to wait for minigames to be added officially.
Social features
The social features in Hytale are limited to just basic text messaging, but, according to the blog post from January 2026, Hypixel Studios has prototypes of proximity voice chat and friends lists in the works.

World Gen V2
Described as the "complete, restored world of Orbis", we forgive you for not knowing what this means based on this description alone. Like the name suggests, World Gen refers to the game's procedurally generated worlds and how they're created. Everything in the current build of Hytale has been put together using V1.
Hytale Studios published a blog titled 'The Future of World Generation' on January 5, 2026, in which they explain the differences between the world generation versions. The big difference between V2 is that "Anyone can create content and modify world-gen without knowing how to code," and that creators can get started with "a few tutorials and some time to practice".
Simon Collins-Laflamme, founder of Hypixel Studios, posted on November 30, 2025 to X hyping up World Gen V2. "This new World Gen will redefine the block game genre. Hytale might not be a good game yet, but that world gen v2 is years ahead of everything available. The potential is beyond imagination."
To show how serious the developers are about this upcoming feature, Hypixel Studios announced in the same blog post that it will hire 15 world designers to help expand Hytale's galaxy. Included in the post is concept art titled 'Alterverses', showing off five planets: Orbis, Nexus, Karpark, Tor'Balyn, and Numdrassl. It does state that not every concept will ship, but it should show early access players the direction the game is going in.
Upcoming Hytale updates
Hytale has received several updates since its initial release date, though without a roadmap, players are unsure when they should expect to see new features added. Hytale Update 1 went live on January 16 exclusively on the test servers, making it easier to craft backpacks, go to bed earlier, and fight against dinosaurs in the Devastated Lands biome. You can read the full patch notes on the Hytale website.
Collins-Laflamme has teased Hytale Update 2 on X, showing off the ability to hide your armor, giving players with exclusive cosmetics the chance to flaunt them for the first time. This feature will be server configurable, and he has also confirmed that avatar presets are coming to the game, along with weapon tooltips and "much more."
That's everything you need to know about the Hytale roadmap. While there's plenty on the horizon to look forward to over the coming years, there's so much to explore right now. Give our Hytale mods guide a read to discover how creators are transforming the sandbox game with amazing innovations.
