Grab Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 with a hefty discount while you still can

If you've been waiting for the perfect time to dive into Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, this is it. The medieval RPG is the cheapest it's ever been on Steam, but only for a limited time. So if you're hungry for a game to take over your life like Elden Ring, The Witcher 3, or Skyrim, you don't want to miss out on KCD2.

In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, you step into the muddied (and oftentimes bloodied) boots of Henry of Skalitz. A man-at-arms in 15th-century Bohemia, he's seeking revenge for the murder of his mother and foster father. During Henry's extensive quest for vengeance, you'll come up against politic machinations, invading armies, and a colorful cast of characters, all of which work in tandem to create one of the best open-world games of this year.

Unlike The Witcher 3, however, KCD2 focuses on more grounded mechanics. You need to explore Bohemia, talk with NPCs, and build Henry into the person you want him to be. If you're a fan of dense RPGs, where exploration and problem-solving are key to success, you'll find a lot to love in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

But Bohemia has changed a lot since launch. The free Barber DLC lets you give Henry a fresh trim, which also boosts his Charisma for a limited time. Then you can get stuck into the official mod support, and download plenty of player creations from Steam Workshop with ease.

That's not all, however, as a KCD2 hardcore mode update will also push you to your limits. You have no on-screen information during battles, compass markers, fast travel, and you won't even show up on the map. That might not sound too bad, and it might even heighten your immersion, but there's more. You also need to pick three negative traits, which can do things like make enemies more aggressive in combat.

More recently, Warhorse dropped Kingdom Come Deliverance 2's first expansion. Called Brushes with Death, you come across a mysterious artist who needs help crafting their defining masterpiece. That does mean you'll need to persuade, and oftentimes kill, a collection of new characters, but art always requires sacrifice.
