New Escape From Tarkov wipe confirmed, will arrive before 1.0 launch

Escape From Tarkov 1.0 is on its way in 2025 and Battlestate has already confirmed that if players want to access the new quest lines in the final version of EFT, they will need to voluntarily wipe their PvE progress. However, another Escape From Tarkov wipe is seemingly inbound. BSG co-founder and Tarkov director Nikita Buyanov confirms that it will arrive before the release of 1.0. Based on the existing roadmap for the realistic FPS game, we may already have a possible date for when your Tarkov progress will all be reset.

'When is the next Escape From Tarkov wipe?' is probably the most common question among BSG fans ('is that Glukhar?' is another one, though it's often cut off mid-syllable by an ASh-12 round). When Battlestate confirmed that Tarkov 1.0 would be coming out before the end of 2025, the studio also said that all PvE progress would have to be reset if you wanted to access the climactic quest lines where, presumably, somehow, you actually finally Escape From Tarkov.

But what about all your other progress? We'd normally expect a full wipe in June, but given the pending launch of 1.0, that seems to have been deferred. Until now, you'd likely have put your cash on the next full wipe arriving alongside the FPS game's 1.0 release, but actually, that won't be the case.

"There will be one more wipe before release," Nikita Buyanov writes on his own X feed. While no other details have been shared or even teased, a quick look at the Tarkov roadmap from April perhaps provides a clue. Alongside the August Tarkov patch, BSG says that there will be a "large-scale in-game event." Potentially, that's the wipe to which Buyanov is referring. That would also affirm what we suspected already (judging from the same roadmap), that the Escape From Tarkov 1.0 release date will come after August.

Also in the pipeline are the Steam launch of Escape From Tarkov Arena, which is due before the end of the summer, and the Steam version of Tarkov itself, which BSG says will come after 1.0.
