Clair Obscur Expedition 33 dev exploring potential "new content" for the game

Sandfall Interactive says it's currently exploring the possibility of adding "new content" to Clair Obscur Expedition 33, alongside improvements like accessibility features. After the immense critical and commercial success of the turn-based RPG, it makes perfect sense that Sandfall is looking at new avenues for the game - and potentially the franchise as a whole. Whether it's with more story, extra difficulty modes, or potentially even DLC, you can count me in.

Sandfall has spent the last few weeks making major improvements to Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Soon after launch, the studio rebalanced one of the year's best RPGs by nerfing the incredibly overpowered Stendhal Maelle build because it made the game "a bit too easy." Then, the team adjusted the overall difficulty, giving us a more forgiving story mode alongside tougher challenges in Act Three. Now, it sounds like Sandfall is exploring new ideas to enhance the game even further.

"Bonjour! We're currently exploring a wide range of future improvements - from accessibility features to new content and all sorts of bits and bobs we're actively assessing," Sandfall writes on X (formerly Twitter). "Naturally, this also includes expanded localization options! While we don't have specific timelines or confirmed languages to share just yet, we wanted to let you know that it's very much on our radar."

What Sandfall means by "new content" remains to be seen, but I'm personally hoping for some sort of DLC. Perhaps we take up arms as a previous expedition, like the nearly successful number 60, or maybe we get a prequel set on Lumière. That said, Sandfall might not release a DLC at all, and instead present us with a new, even harder challenge.
