While I enjoy The Dark Ages, Doom Eternal remains my favorite in the long-running series. Doom Slayer's unbridled strength isn't enough to decimate demons, as you'll need to use your knowledge of each level's arenas, managing your ammunition before ripping into enemies' guts. It's a brilliant display of brutal action, and Doom Eternal is at its lowest price ever when bought in this bundle.

There are a few reasons Doom Eternal remains my pick as the best FPS game of recent years. The intense, electrifying combat leads the charge for a narrative that is ridiculously metal, as you use a small arsenal of guns to brutalize anything that stands in your way. Even if The Dark Ages' shield offers a great mechanic, The Crucible (a vaguely Celtic sword) remains Doom Slayer's most badass weapon, one that makes a Lightsaber pale in comparison. The Jedi wouldn't have been exterminated if they had one.

It's just one of the many gory, violent, or otherwise intense games in this new Build Your Own Brutal Bundle from Fanatical. Doom Eternal is clearly the main attraction, but you can grab it and two other games for just $4.50 / £4.50 each, or if you're keen to fill up your library with some of the best PC games you've never played, you can get five or more games for $4 / £4 each.

One of the other attractions in this bundle is Butcher's Creek, a horror game that bears a strong resemblance to Rockstar Games' controversial Manhunt. Developed by David Szymanski of Iron Lung fame, it's a first-person slasher that puts you into a sadistic situation, as a gang of killers captures you, forcing you to use a variety of weapons from box cutters to 2×4 planks as your tools for survival.

On the other side of the coin, It's Only Money is a wacky open-world game that sees you leave behind the sewers of the Undercity as you steal, fight, and cause mayhem against the capitalist society that the evil mayor of Rockhaven has cultivated. It looks like pure chaos, but you'll slowly purchase property and take back the city, leaving a wake of destruction behind you, just like a real landlord, in the most zany game I've ever played.

There are 12 games in total in this bundle, ranging from indie games that have gone under your radar to a parody of action games that put you in the shoes of a vampiric priest. If you're keen to grab some interesting PC titles, this Fanatical Build Your Own Brutal Bundle is a way to add lots to your library. For every game available in this bundle, check the list below:

  • Doom Eternal
  • Scorn
  • Butcher's Creek
